Cercis canadensis ‘Merlot’

Merlot Redbud

Height: 12′
Spread: 15′

Shape: Upright vase
Foliage: Dark purple

Fall Foliage: Insignificant
Exposure: Full sun

Zone: 6-9

Lustrous wine-red foliage follows an abundant display of bright magenta pink blooms in spring on this attractive, small-statured tree. A result of a cross between Forest Pansy with Texas redbud, ‘Merlot’ retains the dark purple foliage similar to Forest Pansy but with improved heat and drought resistance for warmer climates. Tight & dense with an upright vase shaped growth habit, this is an ideal tree for smaller landscapes.
